Our verdict
Aurora Village is a small, family-run resort in the forest outside Ivalo, about 290 km north of Rovaniemi. Its Aurora Cabins (28 m²) and Aurora Suites (41 m², two glass-roof bedrooms) are spaced out among the pines, which keeps the site dark.
From September to April breakfast and a three-course dinner are included, and guests rate the food highly. The panorama sauna and outdoor hot tub are shared facilities you book and pay for.
Reviewers like the calm and the staff, but several feel the price is high for cabins without a TV, minibar or private sauna. Children must be at least 12.
