Who we are
Lapland Ranked is written by people who live in Rovaniemi and work in Lapland's tourism industry. We spend our winters around the same resorts, safari companies and airports that our readers use, and we built this site to answer the questions guests ask us every season: which resort, which area, and what you actually get for the price.
What we compare
We currently compare 14 resorts across Rovaniemi, Levi, Saariselkä and Ivalo. Every resort is scored on six splits: the stay and rooms, privacy and wellness, guest ratings, dining and activities on site, location and access, and value for money. Read exactly how we score.
Where our data comes from
- Room types, sizes and inclusions from each resort's official website.
- Guest ratings from Google, Tripadvisor and Booking.com, with the date we checked them.
- Prices from published rates and same-night Booking.com searches across resorts.
- Photos from resorts' official media banks where their terms allow, or freely licensed sources.
Updates and corrections
We review the rankings before every winter season and whenever a resort opens, renovates or changes what it includes. The current edition is Winter 2026/27, last updated October 2026. Facts change quickly in Lapland; if you spot something out of date, we correct it as soon as we can verify it.
